Hit & Run, starring real-life couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, has been described as an action comedy, but it’s neither very funny, nor are the car chases particularly thrilling.The film’s final act is an orgy of car chase scenes that are done with little imagination or originality. At one point three cars go round and round in circles. Much like this film does.I’m going with one-and-a-half out of five for Hit & Run. It’s only sporadically funny. You’ll wonder how films like this get made.

They -- Annie Bean ( Kristen Bell) and Yul Perrkins ( Dax Shepard) -- hit the road to LA to take up a job out there is pretty clear. But why all that run? That's because their road trip gets really complicated (and pretty funny) when they are chased by a friend from the past, Alex Dmitri ( Bradley Cooper), the ever-swearing Randy Anderson ( Tom Arnold), a jealous ex-boyfriend Gil Rathbinn ( Michael Rosenbaum) and the rest. But why are they chased in the first place?Don't go looking for high speed chase and state-of-the-art shoot outs. Just settle for some situational comedy amidst the backdrop of Pure Imagination from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and Let My Love Open the Door, and you'd say this one is watchable.

The word that comes to mind for Hit and Run is "average". That's what the film is, strictly average. Falling into the messy little genre of "chase comedy" which is supposed to be action packed, thrilling, fast and hilarious all at the same time, Hit and Run doesn't quite make it.All in all, Hit and Run is one of those films that you might enjoy while lounging on your couch on a Sunday afternoon but if you're planning to pay and watch, keep your expectations low.
