Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum Movie Review
Ratings:1.5/5 Reviewer:Rajeev Masand  Site:CNN IBN
The problem with this film isn’t that it’s so unapologetically vulgar, but that it’s just not very funny. And that’s a shame, because leading men Tusshar Kapoor and Ritesh Deshmukh have a winning chemistry and sharp comic timing…now if only they were required to do a little more than stripping down to their boxers and repeatedly making crude gay jokes. The comedy here is puerile, and likely to be enjoyed strictly by teenagers who’ve never watched American Pie.I’m going with one-and-a-half out of five for Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum. It’s not that the humor’s adult that is the issue here, it’s that it doesn’t make you laugh!

KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM brings the sex comedy genre back into focus. Designed with teenagers and young adults in mind, this movie is up to the brim with sexual innuendoes, adult jokes and impish humor. KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM is wicked and caters to young adults. In fact, even some skeptics, who laugh aloud while watching an AMERICAN PIE, should enjoy the ludicrousness and hilarity of KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM.On the whole, KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM is sure to get the affirmation nod by its target audience -- the youth. Despite the sexual tone, adult jokes, impish humor, the movie, at no juncture, gets offensive, distasteful or objectionable. In fact, it's one big joyride from commencement to conclusion. This one is for the masses, for youngsters, for those who loved part one and enjoyed its crazy hilarity. KYAA SUPER KOOL HAIN HUM offers entertainment, entertainment and only entertainment in large doses!

On the techfront, the set designs are youthful and candy-coloured, especially the venue for the dance set piece Dil hai garden garden. The editing is sharp enough, employing split screens smartly. The visuals are constantly overlit as if the unit had bargained discount rates from the Electrcity Board.
Of the cast, Tushhar and Riteish Deshmukh do have a talent for precise comic timing. What’s the use though? They may score a hit at the ticket counters. As for any form of respectability in any hall of fame, forget it. Just like the rest of this obsessive backside disorder.

Director, Sachin Yardi's film will appeal to an audience who trips over 'hard-core' sex comedies. There are scenes that 'vibrate' with humour, and squeeze ample laughs (some forced), but it's mostly a bleak story-line with random scenes which are padded with pun-fulls of adult humour, sexual innuendo, and expletive one-liners. For a sex-comedy, the film is a tad long (size really matters, can't help it!) and songs like 'Dil Garden Garden Ho Gaya' slow the pace. If you were sex (comedy) starved after Kyaa Kool Hai Hum, this sequel force-feeds you a double dose. This one's for teens who get a 'boner' out of bad jokes, but it may get a rise out of some adults too. Watch at your own 'risque'. If you have a whacked out sense of humour, and are willing to leave your brains behind, go laugh your guts out! It's all below the belt anyway.

Hindi films with a lot of slang and expletives, have so far captured the audiences' imagination. Kya Super Kool Hain Humtoo relies on its cool and naughty quotient, that doesn't require any logic, yet has the ability to pull a major youth population to the theatres.

Tusshar Kapoor is already known for his comic skills and he shows his form and class brilliantly in this film. Riteish Deshmukh comic timing is superb. He is also a great entertainer. His comedy through the marvelous facial expressions wins the hearts. The female leads Sarah Jane Dias standing out as Anu and also Neha Sharma as Simi. Anupam Kher is lovely and class to watch. Chunky Pandey is nice as Baba 3G. Rohit Shetty is fun in a guest role. Rest of the cast is too good to watch.
Overall, Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum is a wacky entertainer, made just to spell laughs and provide utter entertainment to the viewers. But as the makers said, its only for adults. kids should stay away from this film.

Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum strives very hard indeed to be a worthy adult comedy, a poor Indian country cousin of American Pie, but all it manages to be is a juvenile and clunky ride through unending yards of the kind of laboured gags that went out of vogue with Dada Kondke. The film is ostensibly targeted at the teen segment and it might even find some takers there. But it barely passes muster as a sex comedy. It’s crude, crass and completely clueless.

You will find Kya Super Kool Hai Hum (KSKHH) to be an assault to your senses. Racial slurs, double entendres, homosexual references; even albinos aren’t spared. Nor are those suffering from progeria (blame it on Paa).Kya Super Kool Hai Hum amuses you intermittently but largely leaves your brains in a tangle, and the mind gasping for breath. In other words, dimaag ki macho deta hai.

I enjoy vulgarity, cheap lines and jokes with double meanings as much as the next person, but really, is this the best we can do? Writer-director Sachin Yardi is too lazy to create a plot, so the film is just a series of gags that allow him to bung in as many puerile sexual innuendos as possible. Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum becomes a drag within the first twenty minutes and then continues for another two hours or so. Before you are done, you will have to suffer Chunky Pandey in a hideous wig, playing a fake godman named Baba 3G, and Tusshar Kapoor in drag wearing eyeliner, lipstick and a gown with a plunging neckline.Yes, that’s seriously scary. Only the brave need venture in.

And just when you thought that we were highlighting flaws simply for the heck of it, just the way a caricaturist does in his cartoons, we find a positive point in KSKHH. The chicks in the film – Sarah Jane Dias and Neha Sharma – turn out to be pretty decent, acting-wise. In fact, they also do what they are supposed to do quite efficiently – that is, bat their eyelids and wear the most fashionable clothes ever and we would have had thought of giving this film a thumbs-up if  Tusshar Kapoor had not shown off his rear in the film, supposedly imitating John Abraham in Dostana. That simply made us pucker our lips and turn our noses up in extreme distaste. Ew!

What’s Good: The comedy; some songs; Ritesh’s acting. What’s Bad: Some stale jokes; the forced emotional quotient.Loo Break: During the emotional scenes.Verdict: Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum has some laughs, which may be enough for the producers to laugh their way to the bank.Watch or Not: Watch it for the funny below-the-belt jokes.

To be fair, the producers had already advertised this film in posters as being bakwaas in the eyes of critics, who are after all no different from regular audiences. They don’t disappoint you on that front at all. You hope at least the front-benchers will be happy. They’d loved this movie’s first part.

Producer Ekta Kapoor says it’s “shameless” and like an “Indian American Pie”, and the colourful comedy picks up where the first left off with brothers Adi (Tusshar) and Sid (Riteish), aspiring DJs and actors, who are always up for a laugh (or being the butt of the joke).
Pure adult comedy that’s not trying to woo critics, it will probably have  you crying with laughter.
