Jism 2 Movie Review

Unlike the earlier Jism that Pooja Bhatt produced but didn’t direct, this sequel has little of consequence to say about relationships based on lust. The previous film was a well-acted, adult thriller that had rare sexual frankness. In comparison, Jism 2 feels hollow and exploitative…a film in search of a story. Despite some terrific music and Pooja Bhatt’s neat production design, it’s let down by laughable dialogue and a pace slower than my 90-year-old grandmother on a race track.
I’m going with one out of five for Jism 2. For all its pretentious babble on love and pain, it’s a film that leaves your own jismin much pain as you finally get out of your seat.

JISM 2 is visually stunning, the aesthetics are just right, but the voyage of a woman from the lust bazaar who markets desire is far from perfect. The lackluster screenplay of JISM 2 is its biggest undoing! The other issue is that the story of JISM 2 unfolds at a leisurely pace, which shouldn't be the case if it's meant to be a thriller. Also, it gets too verbose and talk-heavy after a point, with Randeep Hooda's character delivering idealistic lines that test your tolerance. On the whole, JISM 2 has Sunny Leone as its USP, but the lackluster screenplay and the sluggish pace act as deterrents. However, Sunny Leone in the driver's seat, coupled with a generous dose of skin show and erotica, besides an attention-grabbing title, should act as a honey-trap to lure the audiences. But how one wishes this jism had soul as well!

Jism-2 is a sexy movie - but it's not as dirty a picture as you might expect. Surprisingly, Jism-2 hovers over sex, like a butterfly gliding across one of the many water pools the movie features. Jism-2 offers several surprises, foremost being Leone's performance.Without such plot absurdities, Jism-2 could have tighter. Slicker. And hotter. Instead, with unexplained turns and over-acting, it's often limp, salvaged by its last 20 minutes of suspense when Izna learns new facts about the IB. Still, Jism-2 offers one more surprise, earning it a couple more points. It's pleasingly aesthetic, all its sensuousness clad in spa-like serenity, its lighting - golden gossamer, dusty hazes, cool, pale moonlight - actually its sexiest asset.Thank heavens for foreplay.

The Pooja Bhatt directed Jism 2 alternates as a picturesque and dark erotic drama along the lines of Last Tango in Paris and In The Cut but is much too comical to turn on the heat as either. It's like Sunny Leone's assets are the script, screenplay and sole purpose of Jism 2 and everyone outside that -- Hooda, Singh, Zakaria or the audience -- is obliged to wag their tongues with thrill. Well, duh, for thinking otherwise.

Sunny breathes a lot and offers the same twin reasons to watch this film that she has in her entire filmography. The film lives up to its title by allowing one to examine the human body in more ways than most doctors get to. Regrettably, it is your jism which is reduced to rubble in the process of watching this dribble. While the entire premise of this film is baseless, Ayaan offers Izna a chance to escape her whoring hell to deceive a criminal (her ex who had inconsiderately dumped her without informing) by throwing herself at him. Why? Because it is for the country! For a country bar’s afternoon screening, may be.

Jism 2 fails to create the atmosphere of menace and foreboding that a dangerous cat-and-mouse game with a heartless annihilator should necessarily have generated. What saves the film from falling into a bottomless pit is a certain degree of serious-mindedness that is embedded in the screenplay. This film is designed to be Sunny Leone’s ticket to a place in the Bollywood sun, but it isn’t quite love-all in her favour. Yet, Jism 2 has enough soul not be swamped by a curvaceous body. It is more than just another 'booby' trap of a film.

I am here to tell you that on that count alone, Jism 2 is a crashing disappointment. Yes, there are several flashes of bare backs. There are several flashes of bare everythings, actually, especially in the chest department whose musculature, as they say these days, is awesome. But what the makers of Jism 2 didn’t see that for a two hour-and-some film where the leading lady would have to do a little more than moaning and groaning and heating up the bed clothes, Ms Leone would run into trouble.

Mahesh Bhatt’s script is fraught with holes bigger than Leone’s heels. For a thriller, the pace of Jism 2 is leisurely. The uneven story and script notwithstanding, you could still catch Jism 2 since there’s no guarantee it’ll ever find its way to your television screen.

The music of Jism 2 is soothing to the ear. Vicky Goswami, Arko Pravo Mukherjee and Mithoon Sharma have done a splendid job.

Jism 2 is all sex and no story, but it’s not really a porn film either. The movie doesn’t disappoint, if you’ve come to watch Sunny strip!

The plot of Jism 2 is somewhat same, even the climax too is a copy of Gangster. The first half of the movie is a complete disaster. Every scene is too slow and monotonous. There comes a point where you might suffer a severe headache and expect something better in the second half. But, the second half is even worse. The plot has nothing new in it. Jism 2 is not even worth a one-time watch. If you are keen to watch it, go ahead at your own risk and waste your money!

Big wind, loud thunder, no rain. 'Jism too' is all that and much less! Just having 'assets' thrust at the viewer from posters and a scantily clad woman on hoardings is not going to make a movie. It's nice to cash in on the publicity of some semi-famous Canadian porn star, but it also has to be backed with some solid writing. JISM 2 is flawed from the word go.

The predominantly male audiences at my theatre surely didn’t come to this film for its stars, songs or story-line. Even from titles and promos, it’s often hard to tell a Jism 2 from Jannat 2.

Alas, adult movie star Sunny Leone’s sizzling body debut fails to live up to fans' expectation or fantasy! It is, in fact, a complete turn-off,‘Jism2’ is a confused film that’s, unfortunately, trapped in Sunny’s curves and nothing else.

What’s Good: The titillating skin show; the music. What’s Bad: The flaky storyline; the scenes and dialogues that are unintentionally comic; Arunoday Singh’s expressions.Loo Break: None.Verdict: Jism 2 is paisa vasool for watching Sunny Leone.Watch or Not: Watch it for Sunny Leone’s much-hyped debut in Bollywood.Sunny Leone shows off her sexy body and there’s some real good music while she does that. Don’t even bother trying to make sense of the film.
