RAAZ 3 is filmed in 3D but barely justifying the technology, RAAZ 3 is visually flat. Bhatt employs all the usual horror-movie tropes like creaking doors, fog-filled frames, and a macabre background score…and yet the film is about as scary as a six-year-old wearing a Frankenstein mask.The first half of RAAZ 3 has a few inspired bits.Post intermission, however, the film nosedives into a morass of clichés including godmen and aatmas and the spirit world, and by this point you couldn’t care less what happens to these people. It doesn’t help that the acting is laughable, particularly by the two ladies.I’m going with two out of five for Vikram Bhatt’s RAAZ 3. The only thing that’s truly frightening is knowing that a fourth Raaz film is inevitably on its way.

RAAZ 3 is not just a horror movie that has its share of chills and scares.The horror quotient in RAAZ 3 is sure to make you break into a cold sweat at times, but what really catches your attention is the human element. On the whole, RAAZ 3 is a story of staunch Indian beliefs and convictions in conjunction with a lethal combo of sex and horror in 3D, competent performances, an engaging human drama and most significantly, there's a gigantic brand value attached to it, which has worked extraordinarily well with the masses in the past. With this film, Vikram Bhatt raises the bar for horror films formulated on the home turf. If you are an enthusiast of supernatural thrillers/horror movies, RAAZ 3 should be on your list of 'things to do and watch' this weekend. Go, get ready to be spooked!

With a storyline that's fairly simple with one-dimensional characters, Vikram Bhatt, dishes out this horror show (which turns 'horny' as hell at times) in 3D, with glossy production values (and cliched elements like the usual fog, kabrastans and howling voiceovers aplenty), dollops of sex, horror and a few terrifying scenes. The 3D effect isn't state-of-the-art, but a few innovative scenes impress. For all those who want to move over from the Ramsay Bros... go watch 'Raaz 3' in 3D, at your own risk. But don't take it to your grave.

So what would you get when you pair a rather mediocre director with a couple of mediocre actors? No prizes for guessing, you get a mediocre film; best exemplified among this week's releases by Raaz 3.Teeming with campy elements of 1990s horror, popularised by American classics like Wishmaster and Faust, Raaz 3 is a typical Vikram Bhatt outing that would do brilliantly in a small town where television shows like Aahat are a rageThere is a serious dearth of anything creative, genuine or even mildly engaging in Raaz 3. Too much cliché, too much sleaze, too much predictability and too much of everything that makes a bad movie.

Raaz 3 is an average film. A successful actress heroine takes revenge on an emerging actress and resorts to black magic to take revenge. Bipasha Basu and Emraan Hashmi has acted well. There are several scenes in the film where people get scared.

Raaz3 is interesting so far...interval.The songs are nice but they are killing the experience of a horror film...Bollywood should copy right things from Hollywood. The plot is not so impressive, but #Raaz3 can scare, surprise and shock...Raaz3 is a must watch this weekend. Good horror films are rare in Bollywood... #Raaz3 gets 3 out 5.

But you might forgive all of this in a horror film with impressive visual effects and scary make-up. Unfortunately, the grunting ghost covered in maggots belongs in a Ramsay Brothers franchise (they had less technical help in the ’80s) and the computer graphics imagery, or CGI, appears dated. The 3D is up to the mark (it’s not the dark, upconverted variety), but just ends up taking the tackiness to another level. As usual, Bipasha gets to show more skin than acting prowess, but is startlingly better than Esha, who competes with cleavage but forgets to emote altogether. Add to that every available cliché in the book — Ganpati to the rescue, ganga jal as a weapon — and it’s more likely to scare you away than scare you.

Being a film where the VFX could've been a game changer, the technicians fail to impress. And the much-tweeted about 'attack of the flying cockroaches' scene looks more like a sewage pipe exploding. If director Vikram Bhatt has applied himself completely into this project, it says quite poorly of his sensibilities as it conforms to every cliché that one associates with Bollywood horror from the beginning of time. Good over evil. Dig out the idol of Ganpati and he will show you the way.This film is quite like 'The Matrix'. Only difference, here you need both the pills. The first- to go down the Bhatt hole and the second for the ensuing headache.

The one thing I can tell you about Raaz 3 is that it never gets boring. A few half-spooky scenes,unintentional hilarity, daft dialogues (written by Shagufta Rafique) and the spectacularly bad acting keeps you entertained for the most part. But the side effects cannot be ruled out – severe headache from those 3D glasses, for one. And a general state of dizziness and mind-numbness from taking in all that Raaz 3 has to offer. Raaz 3, then, will leave you haunted and scarred in ways black magic can't. Wait for the DVD and watch it with friends, drunk.

The second half goes just the way so many films do : down the chute. Or, in the instance of ‘Raaz 3’, in that ‘in between place which are inhabited by pret-aatmas’. Right there, the little bit of frisson that the film managed to garner vanishes, maybe in that self-same place. Out come all the 'sadhus’ and 'babas’ with their 'mantras’, and the `bhagwaan ki moorti’, and it all boils down to the same old battle against good and evil, borrowing from older horror tropes from here and there.

What’s Good: The horror in the first half.What’s Bad: The paper-thin script; the story of convenience; the endless screaming in the second half.Loo Break: Anytime in the second half.Watch or Not?: Watch the first half for some scares.The first half of Raaz 3 is not bad. Shagufta Rafique has the scares in the right places and you are really glued to your seat.The script’s spiral towards stupidity begins in the second half. The dialogues are run of the mill but can go over the top at times by being flowery when not needed. Raaz 3 has its share of scares but it annoys you in the second half.

Nothing works, not even the 3D effects, except for one or two scenes where you feel objects are being hurled at you. The plot has no spine, the screenplay is atrocious, even Bipasha Basu is forced in her acting while Esha Gupta tries her best to enact a scene. That leaves us with a few extras and Emraan Hashmi; he gets his staple scenes of two good lip locks. Vikram Bhatt could have easily named this DANGEROUS ISHQ 2 instead of RAAZ 3! It's that disastrous. The one star rating is for the attempt to make it in 3D. Otherwise, the movie has absolutely nothing to offer. The presentation is a horror in itself.

Talking about the horror part in the film, we definately aren't scared to death, but, yes, there are scenes that might make you break into a cold sweat. I cannot term it as a typical horror flick, but, at times, it might give you goosebumps. The Bhatt camp excels, when it comes to titiliating skin shows and sex scenes.The film's 3D adds the horrifying factor. I cannot miss the coackroach scene, where Esha goes nude in order to save herself. It is sure to fetch kudos. On the whole, Bipasha Basu is both a hero and a villain in the movie. She not only breathes life into her own character, but, also does a bravado act by carrying the entire movie on her own shoulders. This time, Bips has given a serious chase for money to the other B-Town beauties, with her smashing performance.

For a person who isn’t scared easily, ‘Raaz 3’ wouldn’t be able to do much. However, it doesn’t have the used-and-abused clichés of blood running out of water taps and windows incessantly banging in the wind – and thank god for that. The film somewhere seems lacking something as far as the element of horror is concerned. Ample usage of the technology of 3D might have been able to make up for it at places, but sending chills down the spine all through is not what the film does.Watch ‘Raaz 3’ for Bipasha and its 3D factor. The sheen of Shanaya wouldn’t disappoint you. And like Shanaya so confidently claims in the film, Bipasha too “was a star, is a star, and will always remain a star”.

When Vishesh Films and Emraan Hashmi cometogether you always know what to expect. Little bit of sleaze, intimate scenes, hit music and complete entertainment. "Raaz 3" has all of that but the hit music. Vikram Bhatt succeeds as director and uses 3-D technology very well to his advantage. Nodoubt, film looks a lot more impactful in 3D. There are at least 3 sequences which will make you jump in your seat. Story and screenplay have enough to keep the proceedings interesting except early part of 2nd half where film drags a bit.Go for this Raaz with less expectations and you might come out overwhelmed!
