Madagascar 3 Movie Review

After stopping off in Madagascar and Africa in the previous films, that gang of animal escapees from New York City zoo continues its globe-trotting tour with a shiny, bright and somewhat breathless adventure through scenic European cities in the aptly-titled 'Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted'. Madagascar 3 is light and breezy and enough fun, even if it is a little hollow and missing the crackling wit of the previous films. I’m going with three out of five. When the curtains come down on this adventure, you’ll leave the cinema smiling… It’s like that old friend you enjoyed hanging out with, but are in no hurry to meet anytime soon again.

after having charmed us with their escapades in their earlier two adventures. Their third outing, this time in Europe, is equally charming, with eye-popping visuals, vibrant animation, rib-tickling teasers, nuclear reactors, never ending chases, and a joyous abandon that makes for perfect tween (teen and adults alike) fare. As for the plot, the foursome are seen doing what they do best - struggling to reach America, via Europe. A special mention: Apart from the usual Madagascar brigade of the lion, zebra, giraffe, hippo, penguins, squirrels, lemurs, llama... this time the movie gives us two new characters who add to that hullabaloo on screen. For now, well played (specially in 3D) Team Madagascar! Game on!

Escape to Africa wasn't half the film that the original Madagascar was, and the same metric being applicable, the original Madagascar isn't half the film that Madagascar 3: Europe's Most Wanted is.With their third outing, DreamWorks have pulled out all the stops to redeem themselves from the last Madagascar blunder. There's a good, exciting story, great jokes, breathtaking visual appeal and the added novelty of finally taking our favorite animals out of the jungle and into the city.The animals seem more human than before, more spontaneous, and the humor is more relatable than what the previous two Madagascar outings have explored, meaning that this film isn't exactly for children. The one-liners come hard and fast, the pop culture references can be very rude and it might even get a little unbearable for someone who doesn't have a penchant for hyperactive, hyper-colored, blink-and-you miss it style animation. the conclusion could not be any more epic. With the summer vacations just concluding, this is a film that you want to hurry up and watch with the kids before their school-bus begins pulling up outside your home again.

There is hardly time to register or ponder over what unfolds; it’s so fast-paced it could get nauseous. Add to this a spectacularly colourful and playful display of pyrotechnics, set appropriately to Katy Perry’s ‘Firework’. Madagascar 3 does not shy away from glorifying animals in circuses, but they’re all having fun and entertaining you to bits. We must not complain. The burst of colour is not likely to impress all; still the animation is clearly the result of artistic revelry. The quality of animation of the Madagascar franchise was never in doubt.Madagascar 3 is a joyride you don’t want to miss. A perfect treat for you and your kids.
